We offer all aspects of course construction from concept to completion including golf course design and water management study. Earthmoving and shaping, drainage installation, cultivation, grading seeding are all within our scope of works as well as the design and installation of an irrigation system.
With 40 years of golf course construction experience, working with small 9 hole courses through to venues hosting the Ryder Cup we are a recognised and established UK’s golf course constructor.
Our expert knowledge spans nearly a quarter of a century, maintaining sports surfaces at the highest levels. We have an ‘in-house’ team that have been in charge of Cricket Test Venues, Premier League Football, Rugby and National Stadiums. Dave Saltman, our Managing Director was Head Groundsman at venues such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Derby County as well as in charge of the pitch at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, overseeing all events including the 2004,5 and 6 FA Cup Finals. The company continues to produce and maintain World class facilities including Gabala FC and Baki FC, Premier league clubs in Azerbaijan.
We have one of, if not THE, most comprehensive range of sports surface machinery, testing kits and services for all types of Synthetic Sports Surface, Artificial Turf, Astroturf™, Artificial Grass or Synthetic Turf available in Europe. Our services cover the whole of the UK, and abroad by arrangement. Specialists in synthetic sports surface maintenance, synthetic grass cleaning and maintenance, synthetic turf cleaning and maintenance, astro turf, cleaning and maintenance water based synthetic grass deep cleaning and algae treating, synthetic athletic track deep cleaning and maintenance, polymeric running track cleaning and maintenance, asphalt and acrylic surface cleaning, maintenance and re painting.
Land drainage systems are usually designed and built after due consideration. Consideration includes the site survey of the topography, soil conditions, the underlying soil and site location. We will then assess site usage and application before providing a full bespoke design.
Maxwell Amenity Ltd offers a comprehensive service to the client in terms of water management in the forms of waterways, lakes and reservoirs. We plan using ecology experts and work closely with local authorities and sports governing bodies to ensure that the design project meets the requirements of the venue and fits into the surrounding vista.
Natural surfaces require regular renovation to ensure that a consistently high quality surface is achieved. In season and end of season renovation will provide new life & extend the longevity of a sports surface. Maxwell Amenity ltd has a large collection of specialist equipment dedicated to sports pitch renovation and we offer a wide range of services to suit the customer’s needs.
These services include deep aeration, over seeding, top dressing, scarification, seeding and fertilising.
We run a wide range of courses from one-day sports turf maintenance courses (see below) to more extensive courses covering all aspects of the industry, from arboriculture to management. We run courses at our own venues around the country, but can also organise training at the client’s premises if these are suitable and with sufficient numbers.
These theory courses have been designed to provide a basic overview of the machinery, equipment and processes involved in sports ground maintenance. They will be of equal benefit to those who work alone on a sports ground, including volunteers and part time grounds people, or members of groundstaff teams. They are also ideal for those new to the industry and, of course, it’s a great opportunity to spend a day with your fellow turf professionals!
All our courses are accredited by Lantra Awards or the NPTC and are delivered by an experienced turf professional, so delegates can be sure that as well as the basic course content they will pick up lots of tips and sound advice.

Maxwell Amenity supply and maintain the machinery that does the work. From general maintenance to cylinder regrind we can offer full back up that all end users require. Whether you need a new bearing fitted or an annual service contract we offer a quick, efficient service. We carry out in season services and health checks on any machine so that down time due to breakages is minimised. Break down call out, full winter overhaul and a full inspection of the machine safety devices to make sure that at the time of service the machine is to health and safety recommendations. We offer a certificate for this for your records.
